Experience
I’m a passionate, driven marketer with over 20 years of professional services industry experience, with firms such as Slater and Gordon Lawyers, PwC and BDO.
As marketing manager at Slater and Gordon, I was responsible for developing, managing and implementing legal marketing communication strategies and leading content campaigns. I managed marketing nationally for practices including employment law, family law, criminal law, wills, tax, trust and probate, residential conveyancing, dispute resolution and group litigation.
I also worked closely with business development teams to understand their objectives and help develop content strategies. This assisted customers through the buyer’s journey.
Through my experience as a legal marketing expert, I have extensive knowledge of content marketing. I’ve produced strategic content plans for B2C, B2B and B2B2C audiences that quickly add value.
My areas of specialism include creating content plans and strategies to feed into the wider business strategies and creating engaging content, from optimised copy, email campaigns, and adverts to printed literature. I specialise in translating the complex into easy-to-understand, relatable content for the target audience.
Since 2016, I’ve been involved in marketing strategies for group litigation book-building activities. The most well-known was the VW emissions claim.
Career highlights
I’ve had numerous career highlights over the years. One that stands out is the ground-breaking VW emission claim, which settled in England and Wales in May 2022 for £193m.
During my time at Slater and Gordon, one of my areas of focus was to build a book of retained clients for the VW emissions claim before the court deadline. I developed a marketing strategy focused on both above-the-line and below-the-line advertising. As a result of this marketing activity, Slater and Gordon retained 78% of the overall book retained by all law firms (91,000 claimants).
I also spent three years working on content plans for the Police Federation and multiple trade union partners to enable their members to gain better access to the services offered. This has given me an in depth understanding of Police Federation and Union work, their representatives and members.
