Why would you need our legal directories advice services?

Well-known legal directories, Chambers and Partners, and Legal 500 carry out annual research to identify and rank the most outstanding law firms and solicitors. UK Solicitors Guide applications take a significant amount of time and planning. This can be a strain on lawyers and marketing teams, especially given the time of year they’re due – when billing is extremely important.

Deadlines to submit the applications vary depending on the practice area and region, but the earliest submission deadline is usually around December each year. As the submission process doesn’t open until late in the year, this means there’s a considerable amount of work that needs to be done in a very short space of time.

The applications can also be quite complex, so for those who don’t have experience in drafting and submitting these applications it can take even longer to complete them.

These are the reasons why our legal directories advice services can be of great benefit. We’re therefore offering these services to help law firms submit the best applications possible ahead of the deadlines, giving them a greater chance of success.

What are the legal directories advice services?

There are two legal directories advice services that we offer. These are:

  • The Advice and Review Service
  • The Write and Submit Service

1. Advice and Review Service

Our Legal Directories Advice and Review Service is designed to give you the best possible tools and advice to enable you to complete strong legal directory applications. Although anyone can use this service, we would recommend this service to:

  • Law firms with multiple applications to submit: Managing multiple applications, ensuring everyone meets deadlines and applications are consistent with each other, can be complex, time-consuming, and stressful. This service relieves you of that burden.
  • Sole practitioners / niche law firms without knowledge of the process: This service enables you to learn how to submit the best possible applications, so you can use this knowledge for future applications.

The service includes:

  • A 1:1 call with our legal directories expert, providing insight and guidance on best practice
  • A plan of deadlines to help ensure applications are completed and submitted on time
  • A video explainer for lawyers with details on how to complete their sections of the application
  • A video explainer for lawyers with details on how to choose the best referee
  • A thorough review of your draft application form, including a spelling and grammatical error check and a consent / confidentiality check
  • A report advising on amendments and improvements that could be made, such as cuts, changes, points to elaborate on, and missing content

The Cost of the Legal Directories Advice and Review Service

The cost of the Legal Directories Advice and Review Service is charged at a fixed fee of £250 plus VAT per application.

2. Write and Submit Service

Our Legal Directories Write and Submit Service is designed to relieve you of the stress involved in writing and submitting your legal directory application, as we’ll do the work on your behalf.

The time it takes to write and submit legal directory applications can significantly impact billable hours. This service is therefore available for any firms or solicitors who don’t have the resources, time, or in-house skillset to write their legal directory applications.

The service includes:

  • A 1:1 call with our expert to strategise on the submission process
  • Interviews with key stakeholders to gather critical intel for the application
  • Video explainers to lawyers on what information needs to be submitted to our expert together with deadlines
  • A first draft of the written application and referee spreadsheet for review
  • A final draft of the written application and referee spreadsheet for approval
  • Completed online submissions together with receipts

The Cost of the Legal Directories Write and Submit Service

The cost of the Legal Directories Write and Submit Service is charged at a fixed fee of £750 plus VAT per application.

If we complete an application for Chambers and Partners, and you then wish for that application to be reproduced and submitted for Legal 500, we charge a fixed fee of £900 plus VAT for both applications.

Given the amount of time submissions take to prepare, within a short timeframe, spaces for this service are limited. Therefore, if you wish to book this service, please do so as soon as possible to guarantee your place.

FAQs about our legal directories advice services

Of course you can. And many law firms do.  However, some need a helping hand. This is mainly down to three reasons:

  1. Resources: Some firms don’t have a marketing team, or have a limited marketing team, to help prepare the applications for submission
  2. Time: Given the first deadlines are usually in December, many firms simply don’t have the time, due to the festive break and billing deadlines
  3. Skills: The process can be quite complex. Some firms simply don’t have the in-house skills required to produce high-quality applications

The reason we offer two services is because different law firms have different resources, available time, and skills to produce the applications. Therefore, they require different levels of help.

Getting your firm and your lawyers ranked in legal directories is important. Legal directories add trust and credibility to your business. This can dramatically assist when you’re tendering for new business or securing new clients.

However, we can’t stress enough the amount of time that goes into the application and submission process for legal directories.

Although it’s something you need to do, the more time you spend on the process, the less time you’ll spend on your core business role. This may mean you’re losing money, especially if your hours are billable.

It can therefore be extremely cost-effective to instruct someone to help with your legal directory submissions.
