Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Ruche Marketing has zero tolerance of modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and its supply chain. This policy sets out how we prevent it and what we do if we have a concern.

Scope

This policy applies to the founders of Ruche Marketing, anyone who works for us, and all our subcontractors and suppliers. It covers slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking, as defined in the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our turnover is below the £36 million threshold that requires a statutory modern slavery statement. We have adopted this policy voluntarily.

Our business and supply chain

Ruche Marketing is a UK legal marketing agency run by its two founders, who work from home. Our supply chain is small and UK-focused:

  • Freelance subcontractors for media, design and web development, all based in the UK
  • Established software and online service providers
  • UK professional services, including accountancy and banking
  • Occasional print suppliers for client materials

We consider the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain to be low. Most of what we buy is skilled professional work from a small number of suppliers we know directly.

Our commitment

  • Pay everyone who works for us fairly and on time, in line with agreed terms.
  • Never withhold pay, identity documents or anything else that limits a person’s freedom to leave.
  • Check the right to work in the UK before employing anyone.
  • Agree written terms with every subcontractor, including a requirement to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • Choose reputable suppliers, and consider their ethical and employment practices when appointing new ones.

Supplier checks

Before engaging a new subcontractor or supplier, we confirm who they are, agree written terms and check for any obvious warning signs. For physical goods such as printing, we prefer UK suppliers that publish their own ethical or modern slavery commitments. We review our main suppliers once a year.

If we find that a supplier is involved in modern slavery or trafficking, we will stop working with them and report it to the appropriate authorities.

Reporting a concern

Anyone with a concern about modern slavery connected to our business should contact a founder directly at hello@ruchemarketing.com. We will treat reports in confidence and will not penalise anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

  • If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
  • For advice or to report a concern, call the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700 (24 hours a day).

Responsibility and review

The founders are responsible for this policy and for making sure it is followed. We will review it every year, or sooner if our business changes.
